I have an older model Walther PPK/S Serial Number 118975 S chambered in .22LR. It is stamped on the slide "Made in W. Germany" and "Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do. Modell PPK/S Cal.22 Lr. On the other side of the slide it is stamped with the Interarms logo and Alexandria/Virginia. The side of the slide with the Interarms logo also has a serial number stamped on it: 118975 The pistol is a blued steel construction in very good to excellent condition. No box but I do have the original owner's manual. I also have three .22lr magazines (mags are valued at $150 each). Thanks.

What is the date of manufacture of a Walther PP Serial number 785203? This would be an estimate, but they started with about 750,000 serial number in 1929, got to about 1,000,000 by late 1930, then started PP serials at 100,000 to 350,000. So the only option for yours is 1929-1930, probably 1929.

Greetings.I have a Walther PP for sale, and I have a guy who wants to buy it, but he won't buy it unless I can prove that it is war time. Pistols are not my strong point, so I need help dating this pistol. It is a standard PP, there are no markings on it except for the serial number and maker code.

Pistols are not my strong point, so I need help dating this pistol. It is a standard PP, there are no markings on it except for the serial number and maker code. It has a rough war finish, and there is no Walther legend on the left side. The number is 389337 P, and directly below it is the AC maker code. I can find no prood marks anywhere on the gun.Any help that can be offered would be greatly welcomed.Your PP was made in or prior to April 1945 according to Deiter Marschal's Walther Pistols. See the Bottom of the attached page(Page 16).Your Pistol should have on the left side behind trigger guard the Eagle over 359 military acceptance stamp and on the right side under the ejection point the eagle over N Proof Mark(See page 112). Hello, i am new to Walther pistols and am buying one with what appears to be a horizontal 'N' with something (crown?) to the right of it, made ca.

I also have one with 5 digits and the letter 'a'. Cant find info about it anywhere. Thanks. The letter 'A' after the five-digit serial # means that it is a.380 caliber made in France betwee 1954 and 1985. The numbers assigned to the French Co. (Manurhin) were 12003A-78148A. You should be able to place your pistol in this range and determine the approximate date of manufacture. My information comes from Dieter Marschall, Walther Pistols, page 28.Crow.

This is a later production Walther PP pistol in the very desirable 22LR. The serial number range of this Walther PP pistol falls right in line with other WWII Walther PPs also produced in 22 LR. These 22 caliber model PPs and PPKs were produced throughout the normal production and are always considered highly desirable. This pistol has the standard fixed sights, with the left side of the slide marked with the Walther Banner followed by "Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/Walther's Patent Cal.22" followed by "Mod PP". The right side of the slide, chamber area and front end of the barrel are correctly stamped with the Nazi "Eagle/N" Commercial proofs. It has matching serial numbers (248332p) which are stamped on the right side of the frame and slide. This pistol is complete with the original Walther 22 caliber magazine with the black plastic finger extension, one spare magazine with the flat base plate and an original, unmarked wartime commercial brown leather holster.

The army initially ordered 800 pieces on April 1, 1939. Many of these pistols had mixed parts between the HP and P38 and be marked with the commercial proof. All of these were manufactured by hand! The first really genuine P38 were known as the Zero-series. These started with the serial numbers 01-013000, and below is pictured an example of one of these Zero-series P38s. These were the very first military P38s, and only 13,000 were made between April 1939 and March 1940.

480/AC- After the Zero series Walther was assigned the maker code of "480", and the Walther banner was removed, and this number code put in its' place. Approx. 7,000 pieces were made with this code. Later this year the "480" code was changed to "AC" The serial numbers of these will be between 7150-9850. Some pistols will even have both the 480 and the "AC", or be marked "480" with the date "40". These are known as the "480" "40" added pistols and will be serial numbers up to 3000. 2ff7e9595c
